The 9.0 Lawson Security offers an entirely new approach to securing objects and data in the Lawson system. The system allows for security to be modeled more easily based on the functional structure and job duties within the organization.
JGI follows a standard methodology when undertaking a Lawson Security 9 project. An emphasis is placed on the upfront work to ensure properly defined requirements and to involved key members of the organization’s functional areas to correctly model security in a manner that meets the business’s needs.
- Planning – Planning defines initial scope of work, timelines, and determines availability of key resources within the business.
- Requirements – Further identify resources, users, and controls that must be put in place.
- Develop Security Model – This is the key phase where the security model is designed.
- Configuration – Utilizing the Lawson Security administration tools to implement the security rules identified in the security modeling phase. This is a key phase of knowledge transfer to our clients.
- Testing – Unit & System testing of the application with the context of the new security model.
- Migration or Implementation – Security rules are moved from the test system to production.
